Terms of use.
Blame the Fare helps people browse checked flight deals and monitor saved trip constraints. AI trip search is coming soon. Unless a checkout is explicitly offered, we are a deal and alert service—not the airline, ticket issuer, or travel agent completing your booking.
Fares and availability
Flight prices and availability change quickly. Public deal cards show a check time, and Watch matches have a verification and expiry time. The airline or booking provider’s checkout, fare rules, baggage rules, passenger requirements, and final total are the source of truth before purchase.
AI and recommendations
AI trip search is coming soon and is not included as a currently available membership feature. When it opens, AI output may misunderstand a preference, airport, date, visa rule, event, or practical constraint. The service does not provide legal, immigration, medical, or financial advice.
Accounts and alerts
Keep account credentials secure and provide accurate information. Alerts are a convenience, not a promise that a fare will remain available or that every price change will be detected. You may pause searches and delete your account at any time.
The Departures Club and fare Watches
The full deal feed and fare Watches require an active paid Departures Club plan or free trial. Club access includes up to 50 active Watches with priority checks for the access period shown at checkout. Monthly and annual plans renew automatically unless cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period unless checkout or applicable law says otherwise. Payment does not buy a flight or guarantee a saving, fare, alert, or booking.
Founding pricing, when available, applies only to the first annual period: $49 for the first year, renewing at the standard $79 annual price. Standard membership is $9 per month or $79 per year. These membership prices are in USD. Eligible new annual members receive a 7-day trial with a card. Checkout confirms the selected price, tax and renewal terms before purchase. Existing 90-day Watches bought under the earlier one-time paid offer remain available through their stated expiry and do not renew.
Stripe processes club plan payments and may provide a receipt. You can manage or cancel a plan from your account. If we cannot activate or materially provide paid access because of a fault in our service, contact us using the details published on the site. Nothing in these terms limits statutory cancellation, refund, or consumer rights.
AI trip search
AI trip search is coming soon. It is not currently included as an active membership feature, and no interactive-search allowance is promised until the feature opens. Saved-trip Watch checks are a separate feature available on the schedule described on the membership page.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape, overload, reverse engineer, evade limits, submit unlawful content, probe other accounts, or use the service to violate an airline or provider’s terms. We may restrict abusive traffic or suspend an account when necessary to protect users and connected services.
Third-party services
Airlines and technology providers are independent services. Their terms govern their inventory and transactions. We are not responsible for their schedule changes, cancellations, fulfilment, data, or outages. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or savings.
Privacy and changes
The privacy notice explains data handling. These terms may change as the service and its booking role evolve. Material changes will be dated here and communicated when appropriate.
These terms are an operational draft and need counsel review, operator identity, governing-law, and contact provisions before a public commercial launch.
