About Blame the Fare
Find the fare. Understand what you are buying.
Blame the Fare is a flight-deal and price-monitoring service. Review recently checked deals and keep watching exact trips through The Departures Club. AI trip search is coming soon.
What Blame the Fare does
Choose an exact route, dates and maximum fare, or start from a public fare preview, to create a Watch. Membership includes up to 50 saved trips with hourly checks and email alerts for matching fares. AI trip search for flexible briefs is coming soon.
We do not issue airline tickets. You book with an airline or booking site, and that seller supplies the ticket and booking support. A subscription covers the deal feed and monitoring service; it does not include the flight.

How we check public fares
Our automatic public feed checks Google Flights deal data through SerpApi for 13 UK departure airports each day. These prices are return fares for one adult in economy, displayed in GBP. We show the route, travel dates and check time with each observation.
- Fares must have valid travel dates, a return after departure, and a valid Google Flights booking link.
- We exclude trips with past departure dates and checks older than 26 hours. A failed refresh does not leave the old fares visible indefinitely.
- Deals must be at least 10% below Google's typical price. Where a typical price is supplied, the saving comes from the displayed fare and typical amount. Otherwise we require a valid provider-reported discount.
- Google's typical price is a provider comparison, not our own historical index. A discount does not guarantee the cheapest available ticket.
- The airline or booking site confirms current availability, baggage costs, taxes and rules. Prices can change between a check and a booking.
Personal Watches are separate from this daily feed. Each scheduled check asks the connected provider for current fares matching the saved trip. Provider coverage is limited, so a Watch should not be read as every fare on the market. AI trip search is coming soon.
Where we search
The public deal feed covers selected UK and US departure airports. Members can create exact-trip Watches with supported provider airport codes. AI trip search across flexible dates and airports is coming soon. When there are no qualifying public fares, the feed explains that no matching results are available.
About our travel guides
Guides carry a named byline. Jay Mokashi, the site’s founder and editor, writes and edits them and builds the fare-checking systems described above. Each article lists its sources, publication date and review date.
Airline, airport, government and program pages are the sources to check for current rules; a guide does not replace the terms attached to your booking. We distinguish examples and calculations from observed fares. Use each article’s review date and its original sources to judge whether the information applies to your upcoming trip.
We sell the membership described on this site. When a guide discusses our own product, that commercial relationship applies. We do not promise that membership will produce a saving or that an alert guarantees a bookable fare.
Account help and corrections
Members can manage saved trips and billing in their account. For an issue you cannot resolve there, or a correction to a guide, reply to an account email and include the affected page or trip. Do not include passwords or full payment-card details.
