Jack's Flight Club Alternatives for UK Travellers

The closest substitute depends on whether you want human-curated UK deals, a free route alert, broader holiday inspiration or an exact trip checked repeatedly.

What is in this guide

The short answer

For a fixed UK trip, use Google Flights or Skyscanner before paying for a newsletter. For free inspiration from different UK airports, use HolidayPirates; for book-or-wait guidance, compare KAYAK. Jack’s remains the closest human-curated flight membership; Blame the Fare instead combines a public deal preview with member exact-trip Watches. The best option depends on your airport, dates and flexibility.

Choose a UK alternative by alert type

Curated flight alert

A deal chosen from many destinations and sent to travellers who follow a region or departure airport. It differs from a price alert for a route and date that the traveller has already selected.

Jack’s Flight Club is primarily a discovery product: human Navigators find fares and send those worth considering. Google Flights and Skyscanner begin with your search. HolidayPirates mixes flights with package holidays, hotels and other travel deals. Blame the Fare combines a feed with repeated checks on exact trip details.

Decide which question you need answered. “Where could we go from Manchester?” suits a curated feed. “Will London to Lisbon on these dates fall below £180 return?” suits an exact-route alert or Watch. Our guide to flight deal alert services explains the broader product categories.

A free product can be better when the trip is fixed. A paid product can be better when filtering a large flow of destinations saves time. Do not compare the prices without also comparing what is being watched, how quickly alerts arrive and whether your regional airport is useful.

Use Jack's current UK plans as the baseline

Jack’s current UK comparison lists Standby as free and limited to one mostly economy Flight per week. Takeoff is £48 per year and advertises eight to ten Flights per week, economy and selected premium fares, tailoring to home airports, advanced filters and app alerts. First Class is £149 per year.

First Class adds every cabin, every covered region, earlier access to the Flights Jack’s finds, Ask Jack with personalised Escape Plans and two Takeoff memberships to give away. Those features explain why a direct price comparison with a free route tracker is incomplete: they are selling different levels of curation and support.

Jack’s dedicated refund page says new subscriptions other than monthly plans receive a 14-day money-back guarantee and says renewal payments are eligible for refunds for 14 days. Its general terms are narrower: they say a 14-day right applies only where stated at checkout and that renewals are not typically eligible. Because those official pages conflict, save the checkout terms and confirm with support. Both pages say refunds are not prorated in the normal cancellation case, and stopping emails does not cancel billing.

Google Flights for one known route

Google Flights is the simplest free alternative when the route is already known. It can track searched dates, Any dates for one origin-destination pair or a selected flight. A significant change can trigger an email, and Any dates tracking can report when the route’s minimum price drops significantly over a month.

This is precise but narrow. It will not replace a team choosing unexpected destinations from several UK airports. It also does not reserve the fare. Use a maximum all-in price and a booking deadline, then check the current airline or agency checkout when an email arrives.

If the timing is flexible but still route-specific, see our guide to flight price alerts without fixed dates.

Skyscanner for open dates or destinations

Skyscanner sits between open discovery and exact tracking. Everywhere starts with a UK departure airport and suggests destinations. Month, cheapest-month and whole-year views help when timing can move. Once the route and date are chosen, a signed-in user can create a free email Price Alert.

Skyscanner says the prices in month and Everywhere views are estimates based on the cheapest prices users found in the previous eight days. They are suitable for building a shortlist, not promising a fare. Select exact dates and rerun the search before budgeting or booking.

Our Google Flights vs Skyscanner comparison shows how the two free workflows complement each other.

HolidayPirates for free, broader travel deals

HolidayPirates is a free, broader alternative. Its UK newsletter says it sends deals, travel news, tips and holiday inspiration, with a variety of destinations and departures from different UK airports. The wider site covers flights, hotels, packages and cruises rather than restricting itself to airfare.

That breadth is useful when the whole holiday is undecided. It can be distracting when only the flight on one date pair matters. A package also has different terms and protections from separately purchased flights and hotels, so follow the final seller and read what is actually included before paying.

KAYAK for a seven-day booking forecast

KAYAK is another free option once the route and dates are known. Its Price Forecast estimates whether the fare for a selected destination and date pair is likely to rise or fall over the next seven days. The forecast includes a confidence level and can recommend buying now or waiting.

KAYAK says predictions based on history cannot be perfect or guaranteed. Its accounts can also create Price Alerts from search results. Use the forecast as a timing signal, not a promise, and keep your own booking deadline. Like Google and Skyscanner, it does not replace the stream of unexpected destinations that Jack’s curates.

Regional airport usefulness matters most

UK coverage should be measured from the airport you can reach, not a service’s total footprint. Jack’s says it covers major and regional airports across the UK and Ireland, and Takeoff tailors the feed to home airports. HolidayPirates likewise says its newsletter uses different UK departure airports. That does not mean every airport receives equally frequent long-haul or premium-cabin deals.

Blame the Fare for a deal feed and exact-trip Watches

Blame the Fare is UK-led. Anyone can preview up to five current deals; members unlock the full daily feed and can create an exact-trip Watch. A Watch records one origin, destination, outbound date, return date and maximum return fare. Membership includes up to 50 active Watches checked hourly.

The Departures Club is priced in U.S. dollars at $9 per month or $79 per year. Where available, the founding annual offer is $49 for the first year and renews at $79 per year. Eligible new annual members receive a 7-day trial with a card required. Check current prices and renewal terms.

It does not sell the flight or hold a matching fare. The deal feed is closest to Jack’s discovery job; a Watch is closer to Google or Skyscanner route tracking, with a precise maximum fare and hourly checks. Compare the paid workflow with those free alerts before joining.

How to compare UK flight alerts fairly

  1. List realistic airports. Include the full ground cost and time for London and regional alternatives.
  2. Choose the alert shape. Use curation for inspiration and exact tracking for a fixed trip.
  3. Inspect recent relevant examples. Ignore destinations, dates and cabins you could not use.
  4. Compare the final fare. Match bags, passengers, fare family, seller and connection protection.
  5. Record the billing deadline. Save the trial, refund and renewal terms shown at checkout.

A subscription earns its place by saving useful time or revealing trips you would book. Do not measure it against a provider’s headline average saving. Measure it against the alerts from your airports that survived a like-for-like checkout comparison. Our guide to whether flight deal alerts are worth it provides a simple decision method.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about this topic.

What is the best Jack's Flight Club alternative in the UK?

Use Google Flights for one known route, Skyscanner when dates or destination remain flexible, HolidayPirates for free broader holiday inspiration, and Blame the Fare when you want a deal feed plus exact-trip Watches. None duplicates every part of Jack's human-curated newsletter. The best choice depends on your airport, cabin, flexibility and willingness to pay.

How much is Jack's Flight Club in the UK?

Prices checked October 2026: the UK page lists Standby as free, Takeoff at £48 per year and First Class at £149 per year. Takeoff includes eight to ten curated Flights per week, app access and home-airport tailoring. First Class adds every cabin, every covered region, earlier access, Ask Jack and two Takeoff memberships to gift.

Is there a free alternative to Jack's Flight Club?

Yes. Jack's own Standby tier is free, Google Flights, Skyscanner and KAYAK offer free search or price-alert tools, and HolidayPirates publishes a free newsletter with deals departing from different UK airports. The trade-off is usually less personalisation, fewer curated alerts or a route-based tracker instead of an editor-selected deal feed.

Does Jack's Flight Club cover regional UK airports?

Jack's says it covers major and regional airports across the UK and Ireland. Takeoff is tailored to home airports, while First Class adds every covered region. Coverage does not mean every airport receives the same number or type of deal. Before paying, set the airports you can realistically reach and inspect whether recent alerts are useful from them.

Is Google Flights a replacement for Jack's Flight Club?

Only for a different job. Google Flights is better when you already know the route and want to track specific dates, Any dates on that route or one selected flight. Jack's starts with fares its team finds and sends destination ideas. Use Google for exact-trip tracking; use a curated feed when the destination can change.

Is Skyscanner a replacement for Jack's Flight Club?

Skyscanner replaces the search and alert parts, not the human curation. Everywhere and month views can generate destination ideas from a UK airport, while price alerts follow a selected route and date. Jack's sends a stream of vetted opportunities. Skyscanner's flexible-view prices are estimates from recent searches, so exact dates still need a fresh search.

How is HolidayPirates different from Jack's Flight Club?

HolidayPirates publishes a free newsletter with travel deals, news, tips and holiday inspiration, including departures from different UK airports. Its site covers flights, hotels, packages and cruises. Jack's is more narrowly organised around curated Flights and paid tiers that change frequency, cabin access, filters and app notifications. Choose breadth or flight-specific personalisation accordingly.

Can I get a refund from Jack's Flight Club?

Jack's dedicated refund page says new non-monthly subscriptions have a 14-day money-back guarantee and renewal payments are refund-eligible for 14 days. Its general terms say a 14-day right applies where stated at checkout and renewals are not typically eligible. Because those pages conflict, save the checkout terms and confirm with support; stopping emails does not cancel billing.

Which option is best for a fixed family holiday?

Start with Google Flights or Skyscanner because a fixed family trip needs the same passengers, dates, bags and airports compared repeatedly. A broad newsletter can still reveal another destination, but it may not monitor your school-holiday itinerary. An exact-trip Watch can add repeated checks when you have a clear maximum fare and a booking deadline.

Where does Blame the Fare fit for UK travellers?

Blame the Fare is UK-led and publicly previews up to five current deals. Members unlock the full daily feed and exact-trip Watches. Each Watch uses one origin, destination, outbound date, return date and maximum return fare and is checked hourly while active. Blame the Fare does not sell tickets or hold prices, so compare membership terms with free route trackers first.
